Counseling Philosophy
I utilize an eclectic approach to therapeutic services to aid individuals, couples and families in reaching their objectives. I integrate evidenced-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) among other modalities. My approach is tailored to the needs, strengths and abilities of each client and I work to understand the cultures of each individual. It is my goal to align my services within the context of your lifestyle, communities and identities.
In practice, I utilize frameworks of Trauma Theory, Attachment Theory and Family Systems Theory. I want all services to be a collaborative effort between you as the client, and myself and I want to provide a safe environment that promotes healing, growth and connection.

About Me
I completed undergraduate studies at Oregon Insitute of Technology, where I received a Bachelors of Science, with a major in Applied Psychology. I attended graduate school at Portland State University where I obtained a Master of Social Work degree. Throughout my education I have specialized in infant/toddler mental health, substance use, trauma and in social work with indigenous and native individuals.
In my clinical roles I have had opportunities to work with youth in the foster care system, individuals experiencing mental health crisis, individuals who have been involved in the justice system, individuals referred for sex offender treatment and with early intervention teams that focused on individuals experiencing psychosis.
My passion for working in the mental health field is focused on advocacy for all individuals, creating positive connections and therapeutic relationships for clients, empowerment of others and creating positive, enduring social change. I govern my practice using the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics in my decision making and conduct.
For myself, I enjoy reading, advancing my education, spending time with my family and friends, hiking, kayaking and enjoying the company of my dogs. I reside in Oregon with my family.
